Dear Nadia, As promised, here are two pictures of you with the papagallo. I hope they'll please you.
Thanks a lot TO THE WHOLE STAFF for the very pleasant stay at the Ca'doge.
Everything was fine, and we really appreciated the friendly atmosphere, the confort and the size of the rooms, the cleanliness and the care for the satisfaction of your clients, and also the hotel's location.
We will certainly return to Venice, and without doubt to the Ca'doge !
I wish you a very pleasant end of summer, and hope to meet you again during my next visit to Venice !
Take care of that beautiful smile of yours !

Stayed one night before our cruise and one night after. We were in the junior suite. King bed and sofa.
Good size bathroom with shower in tub. AC worked great. It was very hot in Venice.
Located next to the People Mover, which takes you to the cruise ships in one stop for 1E.
We were not told this on our outgoing day and spent 20E for a taxi.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Reception area but no lobby. Three small tables for breakfast. Rolls, cereal, yogurts, fruits, juices and beverages. Located on Piazza Roma , the airport bus terminus and vaparetto stops are located.
A super location.
Hotel was very clean and comfortable.
Also a good value.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrive to this quaint hotel. From the outside its not much to look at, but once in the doors.
The staff were all very lovely and extremely friendly. The rooms were beautifully appointed and very large for the size of the hotel.
It was a very comfortable stay and I would not only recommend the hotel, but visit it again.
The location was an added bonus as its easy to get to the train station, the port, and the city via the piazza roma, as well as all the main sites that are just a water bus or short walk away.

The hotel location is excellent if your trip involves a cruise, as the cruise lines operate a free bus to/from the pier and the Piazzale Roma. Our room was small but very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Continental Breakfast was good. Downside is that the hotel is built around a car-park and so, the immediate outside area is not very attractive.

We used the Ca' Doge for only a single night before joining a cruise - we choose the hotel because of its location being just a few metres from where the airport coaches arrived -and where the cruise ship coach transfers depart.
The hotel was perfect for this purpose, but probably a little far from the main sights for a longer stay in Venice. Our bedroom and indeed bathroom were very well furnished and almost astonishingly large for Italy.
The sound insulation was of a very high standard - although our room faced onto the Piazalle Roma we were not disturbed by early morning traffic noise.
We arrived at midnight and after the hotel had closed, but as we were given very clear instructions how to obtain entry this was not a problem. The only disappointment was breakfast which was lacking in variety - no meats or cheeses etc - not a problem for one night, but perhaps more of an issue for a longer stay. Overall the hotel met our needs perfectly and we would use again for the same purpose.
The hotel seemed quite expensive when booking - but felt like very good value for money when we alighted the airport coach just before midnight.

Stayed for 2 days in this hotel. One before taking a cruise, and one night after the cruise.
Right in front of bus terminal and close to train station. No need to carry the luggage over the many bridges of Venice.
Easy to walk everywhere including the cruise ship terminal.
The staff were friendly. The room was ready before check in time upon arrival and on the day we came back from the cruise they let us store our luggage and then took it to our room while we visited Venice. The small breakfast room was efficient. Not a large selection of food but nonetheless it was nice.
Our room was facing the busy street in Piazzela Roma but with the windows close there was hardly any noise and at night it was extremely quite. The room was ok in size and the bathroom was pretty big and very clean. The mirrors behind our bed needed to be changed, but that was the only cosmetic change the room needed.
Overall it was a small but efficient hotel, extremely well located for people taking a cruise out of Venice or anyone not wanting to carry their luggage over lots of bridges. One tip, we found the food in the Cannaregio area to be cheaper than other areas of Venice.

Hello Nadia,

Here are the pictures that I promised you I would send.

Our stay at our hotel was very memorable, you, Agat and your staff make you free at home and were always there to assist us when needed.  We will be advising our friends and trip advisor on what a great place you have to stay at when visiting Venice.

Hope to see you again on another adventure.

Take care.  Cheers

Staff here were very helpful and friendly.
They carried our bags up to our room for us and let us leave our luggage after we checked out because our flight left later in the day.
Location is close to cruise ships, train station and the major bus station is outside the front door. Location not great if you want to spend time enjoying the scenery in Venice, but certainly convenient to all forms of transportation and within walking distance to every major sightseeing highlights in Venice.
A little expensive, but that is Venice! We recommend walking - you see more.
The hotel will give you a map and point out the routes. Airport buses, taxis and vaporettos are right there. If you use them, take the vaporettos - they are cheaper than the water taxis. We were only in our room to sleep anyway so the fact that it was in the transportation hub of the city was not an issue for us, and in fact, the proximity to transportation was why we chose the hotel in the first place.
Breakfast lacked imagination but was adequate.
Staff were GREAT! Say hi to Millie the parrot when you arrive. Room was very clean and surprisingly quiet. Small shower.

Great location - good quality hotel near the train station with very helpful friendly staff. It is very easy to get lost in Venice and there are signposts everywhere back to the Piazalle Roma where this hotel is located. Though centrally located, there wasn't too much surrounding noise. However, I would ideally recommend a top floor room as the floor boards seemed quite thin and noisy

I escorted a group of 9 skiers from Canada on a trip to Italy in March 2009. We spent 2 nights at the Ca Doge in Venice at the end of our trip.
Every one felt the Hotel could not have been more perfect. Our bus took us right to the door of the hotel. The hotel looked after storing our skis and also arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport.
We had to leave the hotel at 5 oclock in the morning in order to catch our flight back home. One of the girls at the hotel even came in at 4:30 in the morning to serve the group a continental breakfast.
In all the years I have been bringing a groups to Europe, no other hotel has gone out of their way so much to be of service to our group.
I plan to use the Ca Doge again in future and can recommend it to anyone else who might like to stay there.

I booked Ca'Doge after reading a lot of the Hotel reviews for Venice via TripAdviser.
I booked it via the Ca'Doge website. The price was reasonable, the staff friendly and helpful and the location excellent. I was worried that Venice would be flooded this time of the year but after talking to staff at Ca'Doge, I was assured that there is no flood. I was there from 09/01/2009 to 14/01/2009 and am glad that I didn't cancel my trip to Venice. There were no floods.
The Hotel is located right where the Airport bus station is, and is only a two minute walk from the ferry stop. It is very convenient as my flight got there at 9.00pm and i didn't have a chance to get lost with all my luggage.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is free internet access and breakfast. You will be disappointed if you like hot food for breakfast.
I was given a room that smelled of cigarette smoke, the staff kindly and quickly changed my room after I asked. My friends were on the third floor and I was on the second floor. I suggest you opt for second floor, as some of the paints on the third floor were peeling due to damp (that's Venice though).

Very well situated in Piazzale Roma ,
just some metres from the arrival of the airport shuttle , shuttles for cruises and vaporetto to St Marc Place.

Internet for free , they can let you a laptop( don't know the price because we had our own one), free umbrellas at the reception. ... A little bit expensive but his situation was very intersting for us , we didn't have to walk with the luggage across the channels.

We stayed 3 nights and would recommend this hotel.
It was very handy for cabs, the bus to the airport, and the train station. The water "bus" was across the square, for accessing The Grand Canal.

Resumiendo:
todo un hallazgo.

"Fantastic Pre-Cruise Hotel"

We needed a one-night precruise hotel since our Costa Cruise was leaving on Sun Jun22 and we were arriving in Venice on Sat Jun21. Wanted a hotel that was close to the Piazzale Roma bus terminal so we could catch the free Costa Cruise shuttle to the Venice Port. And we didn't want to have to drag our luggage up and down the bridges of Venice after a 12hour flight.

Ca Doge Hotel was the perfect choice! When you enter the Piazzale Roma, just look for the Autopark. Ca Doge is right beside it. (Have no fear about the noise from the cars and buses. The rooms must be sound proofed because we heard nothing.)
We spent $328 US for a triple room, including a continental breakfast and it was the least expensive room we could find that met our criteria. Although the hotel had no elevator, our room was only one floor up (and the hotel graciously offerred to carry our bags for us).
The room was bright and big enough to handle the extra cot for our daughter. The washroom was ex tremely clean and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. (Even the toilet worked like a charm -- one of my European holiday pet peeves!). And don't bother buying bottled water. The water from the taps was delicious.

Definitely an undiscovered gem!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights 4/27 and 4/28. This hotel is on Piazzale Roma, the main motor hub for Venice. All the buses come into this square.
A huge parking garage is here along with some car rental agencies (only Hertz open on Sunday.) Main ticket office for vaporetto also here. Close to main vaporetto lines and once the new bridge is open, close to the railway station.
We stayed here as it offered parking for the rental car in the garage next door.
Although not a romantic location, I don’t know how thrilled I would have been to carry luggage from the parking garage to the vaporetto to another hotel deeper into Venice up and over the bridges and on the cobblestones.
Room was adequate sized and the bathroom had a bathtub!

Nadia was wonderful along with her staff. Breakfast offering was limited, but what was offered was tasty. (No hams or cheeses). Service very nice.
If you have a car, you may want to highly consider this hotel. Also, Piazzale Roma is where the cruise ships run their shuttles, so if you are flying into Venice for a night or two before a cruise, you might wish to stay here to avoid dealing with luggage issues.

Fantastic hotel.
Venessa the receptionist, was accommodating. Easy to find as it is at the end of the Causeway. Parking at the hotel. Stayed in the Junior Suite, large room, clean, comfortable, quiet.
A parrot resides in the lobby and loves all the guests. Excellent location, 1 block from a main water bus stop. Great breakfast. The only negative was no lift, and although we were on the 2nd floor, it was only a slight inconvenience checking in and checking out with our luggage. Be aware though, we originally booked out reservations through NYCE Venice. By chance we called Ca' Doge prior to our arrival and they were unaware of our reservation. They were full other than the Junior Suite. We would stay at the Ca' Doge again and we highly recommend.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Ca' Doge hotel.  There were 3 couples in our group, all in separate rooms.  Our reservations were made over the internet, and absolutely everything was exactly as advertised.  We arrived at the hotel early in the moring, this being a post-cruise stay in
the hotel.  Even though check-in time wasn't for several hours, the staff found a place to keep all of our luggage until the rooms were ready.
The staff spoke good English and went out of their way to accomodate us.

I was EXTREMELY pleased with the service, the size and value of the rooms, and most especially the location.  Our room looked directly out on Piazzale Roma, but I never heard anything through the glass door to the balcony.

Thank you very much for everything.

The hotel is right beside the motorbus stop from Marco Polo Airport , the rooms are great and some have views over the Pl. Roma. If travelling onto the cruise terminal the shuttle bus is 150 meters away for most of the Cruiselines. A great place for a post or pre cruise stay. Very helpful staff and clean and well furnished rooms. The hotel has limited food services but there are plenty of restaurants all within 200 meters .

When we first arrived at Ca Doge we were surprised it was so far away (all of 10 minute walk) from San Marco. But you know, it was really worth it- we actually had to see Venice to get to San Marco!!
The Hotel is run by a great friendly and helpful team including Milly the Parrot. It is extremely boutique.
The rooms are large and extremely clean, the bathrooms are gorgeous - great hot showers and all very new!!!
The breakfasts whilst continental are very creative.

This is the best kept secret in Venice .
As a first time visitor, I was a little concerned about the location, since the Hotel is right next to the bus station. Noisy ? Crowded ? Dirty ?
Let me assure you that Ca Doge is none of these.
In fact, the location just makes it very very easy to get home to, even on your first day in the city.
EVERY mode of transport pretty much takes you directly home. The hotel is incredibly well soundproofed.
From inside our large, modern, well equipped room, we couldn't hear a peep from outside unless we opened the windows.
On top of all this the staff are wonderful and helpful, and you can expect a friendly and informal welcome, but also to be treated like a cherished and valued customer when you need their help.

In summary, Ca Doge gives you the kind of high quality accomodation which would cost far more elsewhere, along with service that comes with a genuinely caring touch, but at a reasonable price.
I'd recommend this establishment to anyone thinking of visiting Venice who wants a comfortable and well equipped hotel in a prime location, but would like to keep some money in reserve for food and sightseeing.
A single word of caution. The hotel is on 3 floors and has no lift, so disabled or elderly visitors might find the stairs a problem.
Having said that, Venice is a mass of stairs, and isn't very wheelchair-friendly, so that applies to the entire city really, and I'm sure the staff at Ca Doge would do everything possible to help you if it proved a problem.

The location of the Ca'Doge Hotel at the Piazzale Roma is ideal since it is close to both the airport bus and the train station, yet still within walking distance to most other city attractions.

A junior suite at the Ca' Doge for 3 nights cost 640 Euros which included a typical Italian breakfast . The room was quiet, spacious, and clean. However, the shower water pressure was low and the drains in both the shower/bathtub and sink were sluggish. The satelite unit of the TV in our room was not working and even though we drew this malfunction to the staff's attention every day, it was not repaired during our 3-day stay. This meant that we had access to local TV only, none of which was in English.

A fine hotel for the price. Big rooms by Italian standards. Nice bathroom. Quiet.
It is right on the P. Roma where the busses arrive from the airport. Take the Vaporreto from the train station to P. Roma so you don't have to drag your bags over three bridges with stairs!
A great location because you can walk or water taxi to anywhere in Venice. Very friendly staff. Small public area, good breakfast.
The best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Italy!

We loved this hotel and would recommend to anyone. Like previous reviews we also booked because Ca Doge is close to the Marittima cruise port, unfortunately the bridge over the railway lines is closed for security, so walking to the port is just a little more difficult.
The breakfast was much more than we were expecting, the coffee excellent and the assortment of breakfast items numerous.
We loved walking down the sidewalk below street level to the convergence of canals just down the block with so much activity! Exploring the neighborhoods was incredibly rewarding.
The staff at Ca Doge was incredible, great recommendations, terrific rooms, and very clean, we felt like royalty. It's nice to be out of the hustle bustle of St. Marks and to feel like you own part of the hidden city.
We loved hanging out our window in the morning and watching the traffic coming onto the island and the italian gestures.
We kept our windows open most of the time for the breeze and activity of Piazzale Roma, but closing the window insulated all the noise.
It was great to take the bus from the airport and to be let off about 50 feet from the door of the hotel!

We arrived in Venice 2 days before our cruise left and I wanted to stay near the port. As we arrived in P.le Roma by bus I saw the hotel as we circled. This is a bonus in Venice. No searching! The staff was extremely helpful to us. Great place to stay if you are looking for 1 or 2 nights before a cruise.

Our Stay at Ca' Doge was the perfect accomodation for 3 days in Venice ; well located for our arrival by train and departure by cruise ship. From our experience I would think the hotel caters to all types of travellers.
The staff were very well informed and extremely helpful. We would definitely return to Ca Doge

Dear Erica, Thank you for the excellent service we had at "ca' doge". It was so easy to find and so comfortable (and quiet!) to stay in. In welcoming and looking after us, both Deborah and Agatha, were superb, - they could not have been more helpful.
The hotel played a very big part in giving us such a wonderful weekend in Venice.

Thank you again, John Bruce

Convenient location to the Fly Bus to get to the airport early in the morning. Most helpful staff. Quiet despite being at Piazzale Roma with an AutoPark next to it. A little difficult to find but not unusual for everything in Venice. Would stay there again!

Dear Nadia Agata and Deborah,

Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your hotel. We liked it so much when we stayed last year that we returned this year with our two grandchildren.
Ca'doge is so conveniently situated within walking distance of the water bus and taxi and the train station. Last year when we had a car it was so good that you have the carpark station attached to the hotel. We would recommend your hotel to anyone looking for a nice clean pleasant and friendly hotel close to every amenity.
We have some of your cards and will pass them on to any friends who are coming over to Venice.
Thank you for making our stay so pleasant and enjoyable and for the helpful and friendly attention we received from Nadia and Agata on this stay and Nadia and Deborah when we stayed last year. The girls said how is Willie?  Sorry we missed Deborah this year hope she enjoyed her holidays.
Also thank you for arranging accomodation for us in Rome. The Hotel Nerva was great and was within walking distance of all the main places of interest in Rome and the Vatican. The family who run Hotel Nerva were also very friendly and helpful and we would also recommend this hotel to our friends.
Good luck to Italy in the final of the World Cup to-morrow.
Many thanks

Gary and Raewyn Willetts (Australia)

We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, we were made very welcome. Our rooms were comfortable and bathrooms were clean and we were well provided with all that we needed.
The parking of the car was a real bonus and was very efficient. We hadn''t realised how close we were to the heart of Venice and walked in each day with ease. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were staying near Piazza San Marco, but we needed to catch an early morning flight out of Venice . We made a reservation here at the last minute, and it worked out perfectly.
This was a beautiful hotel and very clean.
The staff arranged to have a taxi to take us to the airport at 5:30 a.m. and to check out the night before.

Very well situated (just behind the bus station, next to vaporetto and train station) At 30min by foot from the Piazzale San Marco. So you can walk through the charming streets of Venice Quiet bedrooms (despite the traffic on the Piazzale Roma) Beautiful middle-sized rooms Satisfactory breakfast Helpful  reception (in good English) ... We spent 3 good nights in this hotel and would recommend it.

 Dear Agata and Nadia,
We had a very enjoyable time in Venice. Your hotel was very nice, the room very comfortable and everybody was very helpful. The location was also very good close to the airport bus stop and the waterbus stop. We thought the hotel would be noisy because it was in a busy location but it was very quiet.
Thank you again for arranging our two nights at the Antiche Figure. That was also a very nice hotel and again everybody was very helpful.
We will certainly recommend your hotel to any friends who are coming to Venice.
        Best wishes to you both

Peter

To Hotel Ca Doge,

I would like to compliment you on your hotel and particularly your staff, for making our stay such a memorable one, on our first trip to Venice. Having the convenience of being able to park our car in the hotel car park and having all the transport on our doorstep, made our holiday with our fathers (both in their 80's) so easy, even with the heat! Your staff were a pleasure - always smiling and helpful, even though we could speak no Italian, suggesting restaurants and places to go.
We would certainly come back to Venice and use your hotel again and recommend it, especially if you don't want to carry luggage around via the waterways getting to other hotels.

Thank you, Len and Linda Penn

We were very happy with our stay at Ca' Doge.
The staff were friendly and helpful, both in assisting us in our stay at the hotel, and in our "touristing" and eating 'round Venice. The room was of a reasonable size, quiet and well-serviced. Our rooms' airconditioning was not functioning during our stay but this did not greatly inconvenience us - we only realised this on the last night of our stay, so the staff were unable to fix it before we left. Ca' Doge was a pleasant place to stay, easy to find, and very conveniently located for both travelling from St Lucia train station and traipsing around Venice during the day. We would definitely consider staying there, if in Venice again.

Just wanted to thank all the staff for the wonderful service we received during our stay in venice. Also, the recommended restaurant, Ostario Al Vecio Pozzo, was excellent. We stayed in a lot of hotels through out Italy and Ca'Doge was our favorite.
Thanks again for the wonderful accommodation.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. It is in easy walking distance of the Water Bus and bus station is opposite. There are a few bars and shops across the road where the service is good and relaxing.
The cleanliness of the hotel is first rate and the staff are friendly, very helpful, and extremely nice.
Nothing is too much trouble for them. Competent and professional. Breakfast is very basic, but all food is fresh and you can have as much as you want!
